our new grill
does that even make sense in english? sometimes i fear for my vocabulary what with all this living in german-pseudo-english land.
anyways...
here is our new grill. or barbecue. or whatever. yes i know it's dinky but it was only six bucks and it is very very portable:
yesterday was market day on münchner platz and so i picked up some trout:
some big fat kalamatas (they're in the salsa):
some new potatoes and some 'sparagus:
and took it all to ze park after work for some pre-summer outdoor dining. why am i so obsessed with eating outside? hmm.
the little fishies were stuffed with lemon thyme and rubbed with olive oil; the potatoes were parboiled, wrapped in foil with rosemary and then shoved into the coals (see figure 1); and the salsa comprised tomatoes, olives, fresh red chilli and garlic, sauteed with a sprig of rosemary and thrown together with flat-leaf parsley and lemon juice.
ta-da!

i love the simplicity of summer food. just pour some salt and oil on it and you're ready to go.
