don't mess with success
a little while ago i tried to make some brownies that had a black bean base. it was a bad idea. very very bad. dr. science said, "hannah, i love you, but those are disgusting."
and since then i've had a hankering for the real deal.
UNHEALTHY BROWNIES
preheat oven to 350
melt 1/2 cup unsalted butter and 4 ounces unsweetened chocolate
let cool (seriously. if you don't, they will be heavy and dry)
beat 4 eggs and 1/4 tsp salt until light and frothy
gradually add 2 cups of sugar and 1 tsp vanilla and beat until thick
now take your wooden spoon (seriously) and
stir in cooled chocolate mixture (with a few quick strokes)
stir in (until just combined) 1 cup flour
and maybe some nuts
bake about 25 mins or until toothpick comes out clean.
let cool completely (or at least blow on them to avoid burning your tongue)
now THAT'S what they're supposed to taste like.
